Call me miss

"I teach"

One of the greatest things about changing your environment are the opportunities that can come with it.

As some of my previous posts mention I was faced with the difficulty of an every changing timetable and then altogether the wrong timetable. But that was only one part of things. One my second day in Madrid on my walk to the university I was approached by a lady in a car. Now anyone can empathise with my initial fears of a) I don't speak the language and b) what on earth could she want?
Headphones out I proceeded to greet her and paused to let her speak and that's how I got my first job. On her way to pick her daughter at school she had stopped to find out if I would be interested in tutoring her daughter and went on to give me a slip with the her details and information. And at that she drove off with a polite goodbye.

Now safe to say I was not only pleasantly surprised but gobsmacked at how easy that had been. Prior to coming to Madrid and for some time now I have known that I wanted to teach more so teach at a University level, but found it hard to find any work to do whilst I would be abroad. This was literally a blessing from nowhere. Long story short I called up about a week later, sat with herself and her husband for an interview and started working right away. Working 4 days a week around university I tutor and help with Aureas English, Science and Social science assignments, play games, read and talk about different topics.

4 months on and still teaching/tutoring I can honestly say it pays to walk sometimes.
