Nest we grow

"I am not an architect"

Safe to say I have thrown myself into the deep end. Not only am I here learning about architects and buildings but now I'm actually expected to build something...so yeah I'm in deep something alright.

But optimism once again comes to rescue and I remember that no I don't need to drown, I've got this. For my integrated module IV we have been looking at factories and have to select one to build. Sound simple right... So in groups of two or three we take on this challenge to replicate and emulate the message of the building and what it aims to portray or focus on.

I partnered up with Beverly an architect in the making and together we began to work on the project brief. The differences in knowledge between us was evident but instead of allowing it to hinder us I thought why not do what I know best, which in this case was everything else but the technical parts. So I worked on the other aspects of the project whilst assisting her on the side. It helped to even out the workload and meant we weren't lagging behind for any reason. We each did what we felt comfortable with whilst supporting the other. It wasn't so much of saying I can't but saying I can. I felt safe in knowing I was doing my part and together we've made progress. The video produced by myself was a representation of the factory and its produce or main focus. Feedback from both lecturers Diego and Conchita was positive and I was mainly criticised for the length of the video (it was supposed to be shorter) but due to the nature of the Japanese tea ceremony they understood why I had produced it like this. It's not the best but it's definitely practice.

Once again taking a leap of faith and trusting myself proved fruitful and I still managed to learn along the way without slowing down the process.
