Long journeys and goodbyes

"I don't anticipate being late"

Of all the posts so far I realised I haven't even posted about my typical almost daily journey into Madrid. Now for me I really am happy and prefer to live where I live out here. It is close to the uni but far from everywhere else. Now it is important to think about where to stay when doing a year abroad and so far I still think I picked the right place for me. Close to the university means fat from everywhere else and I literally go on hour long journeys to reach anywhere even remotely central. Long winded and very much a pain in the neck having to leave two hours before the time you need to arrive. But I already knew what I was getting myself into I guess. Basically chose where you're staying wisely its either close to parties or close to the uni you can't have both.

So continuing onto the day. Meeting people whilst doing erasmus is pretty special and you end up making friends from around the world. For those only staying for a semester it was getting close to the time that they would all be leaving to go back. Sadly I had handful of people doing just that. Cue the violins, teary eyes and tissue. I was definitely determined to keep contact and give people the sort of send off they needed. A meet up over some food and some drinks (only to find out the person we actually did it for had already returned to their country) and it was evident that this whole experience was going by much faster than I could have anticipated. A toast to enjoying it whilst it lasts.
