German market

"I don't queue"

To enhance my time and experience of Madrid I had opted to do something new every weekend. Literally. I thought it's a good way to balance everything in my week and make sure I was making the whole trip as enjoyable as possible. This weekend there were a handful of things to do but I opted to keep it simple as I had a busy week.

"Every year with the beginning of the Advent season the Evangelical Church Friedenskirche hosts an amazing German Christmas market called “Weihnachtsmarkt” in the center of Madrid."

I had opted to go to then German market seeing how it was only in town for a short period of time.I was adamant to catch things that were available temporarily as you just never know when you will get a chance to go again. Bearing in mind I more or less in the middle of nowhere. Well an exaggeration but to get to this particular destination was most definitely a long winded journey.
So we get there after a moment of confusion and not knowing where we were, only to see a long queue in the distance. Obviously in my mind I refused to believe that this could be where we were attempting to visit. We reached the end of the queue only to realise that yes, it was where we wanted to go and yes it would take a while to get in. So to go in or not to go in that was the question. And in the end we decided to pass. Way too long! It was unfortunate but we just really couldn't be sure whether it would be worth it. So not to waste the night we opted to go for some tapas and a drink I mean we didn't come out for nothing. From patatas con brava to sangria and teriyaki chicken, we ate well and called it a night. Maybe next time i'll opt to go on a trip instead.
