Portugal (4): Lisbon

"Lisboa not lisbon"

And the tour continues to Lisbon. I couldn't really work out at this point is I was more of a Portuguese girl or a total Madrid babe. A bit unfair to try and judge given that I had only been in Portugal for just over 24 hours. Another city and I wasn't sure what to expect from here either. Once again we had a walking tour to educate the group on the history behind and on the streets of the city. It was again dawning on me that hey I'm in Portugal and can officially tick it off my list! We learnt about some really cool places such as the graffiti wall that has actually been seen as art rather than vandalism! The whole area was covered in detailed vibrant drawings and quotes, all with their own relevance and importance.

I ended up being like a back up photographer for the trip. As we were such a large group we were often split into two groups, which meant I could take over the role of the trip photographer wherever or whenever the designated photographer could not be. I wasn't complaining once again practice will make perfect. It was a nice opportunity to do some work and show of whatever skills I have and it also reminded me why I should have my camera on me at most if not all times. How can I perfect my craft without my 'tools'. I literally don't go anywhere without my camera anyway but this just made it worthwhile. My photos are often quite grainy or slightly out of focus, so yes they are far from perfect but ultimately I can say I am practising my craft and hopefully getting better at it. Better now than never, better yet, better now than when I'm photographing something important! Nobody wants to mess up something like wedding photos so I better get to improving.
